Perhaps your trip to Marrakech includes a stop in Fes. How then do you travel to the renowned red dunes of Erg Chebbi while also spending time in the Sahara? Take this 5-day desert vacation from Marrakech to Fes; it's just what you're searching for. The beautiful Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass will first take your breath away. You may visit Kasbah Telouet and Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, by turning off the main road and driving directly into this breathtaking area. They provide as excellent illustrations of classic Berber architecture and way of life. You may see well-known Hollywood blockbuster film sets at the Atlas film studios in Ouarzazate. You will learn more about Berber culture as you go along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs. You might stroll through the Skoura Oasis, look around the exquisitely preserved Kasbah of Amredhil, and take in the Rose Valley's abundance of Damascene roses and Berber homes. The Dades Valley's lovely guest houses allow for overnight stays, giving you time to explore the Berber farms and gardens the following morning. Stretch your legs a little by taking a stroll through the Toudgha Gorges along the river or join a local guide for a two-hour climb. After arriving at your opulent desert tent, you'll embark on the trip's high-energy camel ride. Your holiday album will be filled with pictures of you and the camels with the sunset in the backdrop. The day will end with a meal under the stars, followed by Berber music and drumming. This day of wonders is finished with a restful night in your personal tent at a luxurious desert camp in the Merzouga desert. A whole day spent in the desert with the camels the following day makes the journey much more exciting. However, you can spend a half-day driving around the sand dunes to reach Khamlia settlement. Another option is to spend the second day soaking up the desert atmosphere from the camp. Visit Berber settlements as you pass through the date palm oases in the Ziz Valley to learn about local culture. Cross the Middle Atlas Mountains to the cedar woodland at Ifrane to observe Barbary apes. Discover the splendour and awe of our distinctive selection of Marrakech Desert trips. Itinerary

8:00 a.m. departure from your Marrakech hotel or riad to cross the High Atlas Mountains. The Telouet Kasbah, which belonged to the Glaoui family, the Lords of the Atlas, and is now in ruins after the last Pasha left the nation when the French left, is reached by using a side road after the Tichka pass.

Following there, you go over the recently asphalted connecting road to Ait Ben Haddou for lunch. After lunch, we visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is the most well-known Kasbah in all of Morocco.

You proceed to Ouarzazate after viewing the Kasbah, where you stop by our office for tea and to settle your account. From there, it is only a short way to Skoura, where you can spend the night quietly resting in the oasis.

Many of the historic kasbahs in Skoura Oasis are tragically in ruins and are situated among the palm trees. You may stroll through the oasis with its countless fruit and olive trees in the morning before seeing the beautiful and renovated kasbah Amredhil.

From here, our path passes through Kela’a M’gouna, also known as the Valley of Roses and home to the May Rose Festival. We pause here to view the locally produced cosmetic products derived from the plethora of flowers in the valley. These goods are well-known and highly esteemed throughout Morocco.

From here, you travel off-road to get a greater sense of the surroundings. You will make stops at caverns along the road that are utilised by any Berber nomads who happen to pass by and make themselves at home there. Before moving on to the Dades Gorge for lunch, we will share a cup of tea with them. This gives you half a day to unwind, go for a walk in the valley, stroll among fields and gardens, or maybe have tea with a Berber family. You stay the night in a hotel.

After breakfast, the journey continues just a little distance to Tinghir and the strikingly unique Toudgha gorges, where you can take a brief walk to see the steep gorge walls and the constricted sky above.

Then you proceed to the Oasis of Tafilalet in Erfoud, which is well-known for its Date Festival, the Chebbi dunes via Tinjdad, and Rissani, which is home to the Alaouite dynasty of the reigning monarch of Morocco. You can stop along the way between Tinjdad and Erfoud to descend into the intriguing underground water channels that run deep beneath the soil. These canals are constantly cool and prevent this source of irrigation from evaporating. Along the journey, we’ll stop for lunch in a Berber village.

You are given a glass of tea upon arrival at the bivouac before riding a camel to the top of the dunes to view the sunset.

You eat dinner and spend the night in an opulent camp with a private bathroom, king-sized beds, lovely Moroccan furnishings, and tastefully placed lamps to enhance your enjoyment of the solitude and beauty of the dunes. The camp also has wonderful Moroccan furnishings.

After breakfast, you ride or stroll behind the camels as they bring the supplies your camel guy will need to prepare your meal outside among the dunes. Following another three hours of walking in the afternoon, you’ll hike for roughly three hours in the morning before returning to the bivouac for supper and the night.

Alternately, you can spend additional time in the desert after breakfast. You will first pay a visit to the Gnawa community in the village of Khamlia. They specialise in Gnawa music, which was introduced during the slave trade from sub-Saharan Africa. They’ll play a few songs for you.

After that, you’ll go to Rissani’s historic centre. The Alaouite dynasty, Morocco’s current governing royal family, was founded in this little hamlet. It has a sizable souk (an open market) that is held three times a week and is encircled by 360 ksars (a ksar is a fortified hamlet with several turrets). You can browse the souk here, which sells handicrafts, veggies, household items, and spices. On the location of Sijilmassa, which served as the meeting place for salt caravans travelling from Timbuktu in Mali, Rissani has been constructed.

After watching the afternoon sun set, you will board your camel and ride across Erg Chebbi’s sand dunes in Merzouga for about an hour to an hour and a half. You will then return to your luxury tent for the night.

After breakfast, drive for Rissani and Erfoud, where you’ll stop to witness how the region’s plentiful fossils are fashioned into furniture and artefacts.

The Ziz Valley, notable for the size of its palm trees, and Er Rachidia are reached by travelling north on the route from there. Lunch is served at Midelt, the Middle Atlas region’s “apple capital,” which is situated at the base of the Ayachi Mountain.

We arrive in Azrou after traversing the Tizi-n-Talremt pass, where Barbary monkeys may be seen searching for scraps. Early in the evening, we arrive at Fez.

Your 5-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour will come to an end when your driver drives you back to your riad.
