Itinerary

Greetings from Morocco! Arrive in Casablanca’s Med V airport, where you will be met by your personal English-speaking driver. Your new year’s tour will be briefly reviewed by the driver. You will then go to Casablanca, the largest and commercial centre of Morocco.

You’ll appreciate the magnificent architecture, the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, the gardens, and the terrace cafes with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

After that, travel to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel or riad.

We’ll travel by car to Chefchaouen today. We will stop briefly en route to the blue city as part of this grand tour of Morocco. Lastly, spend the night in a genuine riad in the Medina.

Today, we travel from Chefchaouen to Meknes for a sightseeing excursion. We’ll travel across the undulating hills to explore the spectacular Roman ruins of Volubilis, which are the best-preserved in this region of Northern Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As you look into antique bathhouses, admiring the still-existing mosaic flooring, and marvelling at the towering marble pillars, listen to your licenced local guide describe daily life in the Roman Empire. To get to Meknes City, we depart the Roman Empire.

After lunch, we begin our guided tour in front of the magnificent Bab Mansour, Sultan Moulay Ismail’s ornate entrance to the imperial capital of Meknes, which dates to the 18th century.

From Casablanca, we continue our 10-day desert trek to the modest yet striking Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. The Meknes Royal Palace’s entrance will thereafter be our final stop before arriving at Moulay Ismail’s enormous Heri Es Souani. For his 12,000 horses, this served as his personal stable and grain storage. We depart Meknes in order to travel to Fes. Dinner and an overnight stay in Fes.

You will start your guided tour of the medina, one of the biggest walled-in cities in the world, after breakfast at your riad. The medina dates back to the ninth century. You will go through its alleyways and narrow streets.

The first stop on the tour is the Royal Palace gate, which is home to the 16th-century “Mellah” Jewish administrative centre.

We tour the artisanal districts of the medina, including the souks for brass, copper, and bridal jewellery. The bakers, butchers, and carpenters all have specific neighbourhoods in the Medina that they call their own. A highlight is a trip to the renowned Fes tannery, where we get fantastic panoramic views of the guys toiling away at treating and colouring various hides.

Additionally, when we visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II, the city’s founder, the Al Karaouine University from the ninth century, and one of the several Medersas, we’ll observe its religious and historical core (Koranic school). With breakfast, spend the night at the riad.

Our 10-day trip through Morocco continues today as we depart Fes for Erfoud. En route, you’ll travel through a picturesque cedar forest and across the Middle Atlas Mountain range to the mineral-mining city of Midelt, where a lunch stop is planned. The route continues through the impressive Ziz valley, which is famous for its length and abundance of palm trees.

There are countless ksars, or tiny settlements with individual houses, all the way along the road. From here, we travel to Erfoud, known for its fossils and date festival. You will reach Merzouga Sahara Desert, your final destination, after travelling for about 7 hours. Evening and dinner in a Kasbah hotel.

Starting from Merzouga, take a trip to a Nomad community and stop for lunch in a Kasbah hotel by the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Before moving on to the next stage of your adventure, you will have some time to unwind by the pool.

As the sun sets, you will traverse the sands on foot or by camel, arriving at the famous Erg Chebbi sand dunes just in time to see them take on a stunning red hue.

As dusk sets, have a Moroccan home-cooked meal while listening to the seductive beat of Berber drum music and song. Then, retire to your private Luxury tent with a private bathroom and hot shower to sleep beneath the stars. A Gala dinner and a memorable night of camping in the heart of the Desert await you today.

Your day begins with a beautiful dawn, followed by a satisfying meal. Following that, you return to Merzouga to pick up your vehicle once more and continue your journey toward the breathtaking canyons of Todra Gorge through the difficult Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.

Hollywood productions like Jewel of the Nile and The Last Temptation of Christ have frequently used this area as a backdrop for years. When we reach the breathtaking Todra gorges, where sources of water trickle between the rocks, we may take in the breathtaking scenery.

Explore the Todra Gorge’s tall walls of pink and grey granite that surround you for a short while. Through the Dades valley we go again. Evening and dinner in a Kasbah hotel.

Today, visit Kelaa M’Gouna, a centre for Moroccan roses and rose-related products, often known as the Valley of Roses. Then proceed to Ouarzazate along the Road of 1,000 Kasbahs, crossing the Skoura palm oasis. Continue with a visit to the UNESCO-protected site of Ait Benhaddou after a stop in Ouarzazate for lunch.

Leave the kasbah and begin travelling towards the gorgeous Atlas Mountains through Tizi Tichka, the highest road pass in the area at 2260 metres high, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys, mountains, and several Berber communities. Be in Marrakech by the time the sun sets. Evening and dinner at a hotel or riad.

With a competent tour guide by your side, you will enjoy Marrakech’s city tour after breakfast. The tour begins with the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, a Marrakech icon that served as an inspiration for other structures including the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat. The Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs are your next stop.

The Saadian tombs in Marrakech are believed to have been built during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. The Beaux-arts service renovated the tombs after they were found in 1917. About sixty descendants of the Saadian Dynasty, which began in the valley of the Draa River, are buried at the tomb.

You proceed to the renowned Jemaa el Fna Square after lunch, where you may find a wide variety of delicacies, snake charmers, regional musicians, and fortune tellers. The Jemaa el Fna, the central plaza of old Marrakech, is unlike any other place on earth. Additionally, when you stroll around the souks, you may see hundreds of handmade items. The next morning at the Riad.

Transferring to Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport from Marrakech will allow you to board your return aircraft with many stories of your time in the Arabian and Berber nightlife.
