Your trip from Fes to the desert will begin with a pick-up from your hotel or riad, followed by a four-day, three-night drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at a cedar forest where you can take some fascinating pictures of the Barbarian Apes before continuing on through the Atlas Mountains and taking in the scenery of Midelt.

We’ll continue travelling through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga after lunch. We will be greeted upon arrival with a cup of tea and will spend the night at the hotel or riad.

After breakfast, we’ll begin our exploration of the area by going to a community of black people who are originally from Mali to take in their culture and music.

Then, after visiting Miffis Mines to learn more about how they operate, we’ll travel through a gorgeous desert behind the dunes, where we’ll stop for a warm beverage with some Bedouins before heading back to the hotel.

Your local guides will provide you mounting and dismounting instructions as well as other useful safety advice before you start exploring the enigmatic Erg-Chebbi Sand Sea. Sleep in a tent like a Berber.

Before returning to our desert hotel, we will rise early to witness the most spectacular sunrise, which will cast various shadows and colours over the highest sand dune sea in all of Morocco. After breakfast, we will continue to Tinghir and the breathtaking Todra Gorge, one of the highest and tiniest gorges in all of Morocco.

The gorge is an excellent place for trekking, sitting by the river, and enjoying some regional Berber cuisine. After a hearty lunch in the gorge, we’ll continue through the Dades Valley and finish the day by spending the night in a magnificent hotel perched above a mountain.

We get ready and begin our 4-Day Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga and back to Fes after a fantastic local breakfast. Following the Ziz Valley from the Todgha Gorge, we pass through palm groves and arrive at a panoramic viewpoint where we will pause for tea and to take in the view.

As we journey to Midelt in the north, the mountains encircle us. You could notice nomadic communities in the fields with their goat-hair tents. After lunch, we continue our four-day tour through the Middle Atlas Mountains and woodlands. We’ll stop for coffee in the mountain village of Ifrane and you can stop to feed the cheeky Barbary Monkeys who live in the cedar trees.

We shall arrive at Fes by late afternoon, when we bid our goodbyes.
