Itinerary

The four-day desert excursion from Casablanca to Marrakech will begin with a sightseeing tour of Casablanca, the country’s commercial centre. We’ll see the exterior of the Hassan II Great Mosque, one of the biggest structures in Islam, and then take a quick stroll down the corniche. Depending on the time, we’ll see a variety of attractions.

Leave for Rabat, Morocco’s administrative centre. We will tour Rabat’s magnificent Mohammed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower.

We will leave for Fes in the late afternoon. En route, we’ll probably stop in Meknes to view Bab Mansour, which Moulay Ismail founded at the end of the 17th century and is referred to as “the Moroccan Versailles.” After that, we’ll proceed to Fes where you may check into your hotel.

After breakfast at your hotel, we’ll pick you up and drive you to Ifrane, a Moroccan town with Swiss influences. From there, we’ll go to Azrou and stop at the country’s largest cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains.

The Barbary Apes are visible here. After lunch, we will depart from Midelt for Merzouga, stopping along the way to take in the panoramic beauty of Ziz Valley. We will begin the camel trek to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes from Merzouga Sahara desert, where we will arrive in the late afternoon.

You will eat dinner at our camp in the desert tonight. The camp is fully furnished, and guests can savour some delectable fare as well as Berber music and song.

As we continue our 4-day desert excursion from Casablanca to Marrakech, we advise you to get up early this morning to see the sunrise. Following these breathtaking scenes, you can have breakfast at the camp and take a shower. The tallest and most narrow gorges in Morocco are Tinghir and Todra Gorges, which we will then drive to.

Following lunch, we’ll head into Dades Valley and pass via Dades Gorge, where you can see the magnificent castles and incredible rock formations. Dinner and a hotel stay the following day.

We travel to Ouarzazate after breakfast via the Dades Valley. There are numerous photo opportunities along the route that winds through the Dades Valley, which is known as the “Way of the Thousand Kasbahs.”

Prior to arriving in Ouarzazate, where we will tour the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios, we will make a stop in Kalaat Mgouna, also known as the “Pink City” or “City of Roses.” Follow the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech.

After visiting the fortified kasbah, your journey continues through the magnificent Tizi n’Tichka (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon. You will then be dropped off at your hotel in Marrakech, bringing to an end our 4-day desert tour from Casablanca to Marrakech. El Glaoui was one of the last Berber leaders who built this fortified kasbah.
